Description

So I took this shot after I climbed up on a lone dandelion in the front yard of a home in the Sunnyside neighbourhood. Oh, yeah, I guess you're wondering about the dandelion thing? Well, I took a Mini Max pill that afternoon so that I could, well, you know, be tiny. You can't get an MM pill without a special privileged prescription (SPP) and to get an SPP you have to have an ODP (outstanding doctor person) with a ROM (really open mind). Cause first of all, most doctors, even ODPs, have a tough time accepting the whole idea of being able to shrink yourself temporarily (the current MM pill lasts for about 75 minutes, which is just fine for me!). But the ODPs with ROMs, like mine, see how such a pill, though not completely tested for its side effects yet, does provide a healthy psychological charm to one's lifestyle. My doctor's a woman and so I think she's just that much more open minded. I think she's known as a FROM (female with a really open mind). Anyway, she's cool and I have like enough MM pills for the whole summer!

But I should tell you about this shot. You'll notice a pigeon in this picture. This is no everyday pigeon. Nope. This is Pajinder. He's from Pakistan. But no, he didn't fly all the way from there to Canada. Don't be thinking that. What it is is this: His parents did the flying..well, sort of. They managed to fly to Portugal over the course of three months, with quite a large number of stopovers, and then from Portugal they stowed away on a freighter ship. Pajinder says that his parents fought about that part, how his mother wanted to stow away on a cruise ship but the father insisted they take a freighter. Mother thought the cruise ship would be much more romantic and memorable, whereas the father thought the freighter would be quieter and safer cause there'd be less people. Well, they went via freighter and landed in NYC where they lived for over 15 months in and around the Bronx fishing piers. This is where they had little Pajinder and his sister Paula.

Okay, I know! I asked Pajinder in the front yard (after this shot I got down off the dandelion and had a chat with Pajinder) how he can tell me he's from Pakistan when he just told me he was born in the Bronx? Well, you know what he said? He said "I'm still from Pakistan, so shut up or I'll eat you". So I shut up. By the way, Pajinder coos in a Pakistani accent. I'm not good at bird impersonations so I'll leave that to you to imagine. It's a nice coo though. He was cooing a lot as he recounted his younger Bronx days. We must have sat in that yard for over an hour. Pajinder's a great bird, lemme tell ya!
